A
statement can become a question by adding the tag words ¿no? or ¿verdad? to
the end of
that statement.
Examples:
Pedro va al trabajo temprano, ¿no? - Pedro goes to work early, doesn’t he?
Pedro va al trabajo temprano, ¿no? - Pedro goes to work early, doesn’t he?
Martha se aburre en clase, ¿verdad? - Martha gets bored at class, doesn't she?
A statement
can also become a question by inversion, that is, placing the subject after the
verb. When using inversion to form a question that contains more than just a
subject and verb, the word order is generally:
VERB + REMAINDER + SUBJECT
¿Van a trabajar temprano Uds.?
However,
when the remainder of the sentence contains more words than the subject,
then the
word order is generally:
VERB +
SUBJECT + REMAINDER
